There is enough suffering on Planet Earth

Ladies and Gentlemen,
In any discussion about the devices using wireless technology it is relevant to remember that marketing
techniques and neurolinguistics are being applied. Thus we have “I” phone and “I” pads. This is a marketing technique where the target market is encouraged to merge the device with the individual and his / her ego. The word “My” is another. These terms are being used to manipulate the person to “feel” – not even think – they need the devices. This is a marketing technique going all the way back to Edward Bernays (Freud’s nephew) in the earlier part of the last century.
This use of what is now called neurolinguistics is also being used to manipulate the individual to “feel” fear such as the licensing regulations noted by Zerohedge below. Fear is being used as way to to make users pay – and pay promptly. Furthermore, It is known who everybody is and if you don’t pay, you will be caught. Thus, the $200 million price tag on the location company Placed becomes obvious. It is relevant that the tracking is being done by private enterprise and no government anywhere is protecting the privacy of individuals.
And, of course, if you’re wearing on of Google’s touch-sensitive jackets, you’ll be found all the sooner.
It is always inspiring when an individual Tells the Truth to Power as Karen Johnson-Leuthner did in her presentation to her country board in Minnesota. If every citizen did the same it would be chaotic, of course, but things would turn around quickly when your life and the lives of those you love are threatened.
Such is the poignancy of Margaret Cousin’s poem. But You’re Looking So Well. When you or loved ones are sick and suffering, telling the truth to power – and anyone else who will listen becomes first, not second, nature.
There is enough suffering on Planet Earth. There is no need to increase suffering – especially for corporate power and profit. It is up to people like Karen Johnson-Leuthner who remembers those who have suffered that make this world a better place.
Kind regards,
John Weigel

Snap acquires location-tracking start-up Placed, reportedly for $200 million

Snapchat maker Snap Inc. acquired a Seattle start-up that tracks the location of smartphones to help businesses and advertisers learn more about consumer behavior.

Terms of the deal for Placed Inc. were not disclosed in an announcement Monday, but Geekwire reportedthat it was worth up to about $200 million, which would make it Snap’s biggest announced purchase.

Placed’s tracking could help Snapchat advertisers, which have included retailers such as Macy’s and McDonald’s, see whether commercials and other ads on the chat app get people into stores soon afterward.

Slavery is freedom: Submit to the state and be free from terrorism

Clearly, the only sane thing to do after a terrorist attack is to take rights away. Maybe if we build a prison around society, we will all be safe. Maybe it is just a matter of the government having more power over the citizens, and they will finally rid the world of terrorism.

Or maybe the UK’s priorities are all wrong. For instance, did you know that in the United Kingdom, you are required to pay a tax to acquire a TV License in order to watch broadcast and online media? And they are not messing around. Look at these posters and billboards.

google X levi’s touch-sensitive denim jacket takes center stage at SXSW

it’s been 10 months now since levi’s announced it’s collaboration with google to create world’s first smart denim jacket, and the product finally took centre stage at this years SXSW conference in austin, texas.the garment contains google ATAP’s ‘project jacquard’ technology, which uses conductive threads to turn levi’s iconic trucker cycling jacket into a smart wearable with a touch-sensitive left sleeve. the innovation works on the idea that the structure of textiles is similar to that of touchscreens, so by weaving in conductive threads in the place of simple cotton, it’s possible to create a soft wearable that recognizes certain gestures just like a screen.

Telling the truth to power

Karen Johnson-Leuthner remembers friend who died after exposure to ‘cancer stick’

From meeting minutes: Under public participation, Karen Johnson Leuthner, 15735 38th Street, Mayer, clarified she did not represent the Hollywood Township Board and was present as a public watchdog. She responded to the comments made on Commissioner salaries last week and her objections to the increase. She pointed out the population differences between Hennepin and Carver County and questioned how they could compare themselves to larger counties. She displayed photos of the Hollywood Township radio tower site and the generator. She pointed out changes that were being made at the site at the time of construction. She explained she made calls to alert authorities to make them aware of what was going on but no one helped. She stressed this was making people sick, that the County was responsible for the CUP and handed photos to the County Attorney.

Note: The minutes do not address concerns Mrs. Johnson-Leuthner raised. Also note the behaviour of the Carver County Chairman, Tim Lynch.

SPY-PHONE Samsung’s ‘peeping Tom’ smartphones can listen and watch what you do on the web while monitoring your emails to target you with ads

The Sun can exclusively reveal that many Brits have no idea they’ve allowed Korean manufacturer Samsung to monitor them through their smartphone

The phones switch onto spy mode after they are alerted by a “beacon” often embedded in web pages or sent as an ultrasonic signal hidden in telly or online adverts.

The Ecologist: “Smart meter radiation and health – why are we neglecting non-toxic alternatives?”

by Lynne Wycherley

With growing evidence of harm to physical and mental health caused by continuous pulsed em radiation from ‘smart’ electricity meters, Lynne Wycherley asks: have we underestimated risks to heart function and the nervous system? And of interference with embedded medical devices, such as cardiac pacemakers? It’s time to switch to over-wire or fibre communications to bring the ‘smart green grid’ of the future to electrosmog-free reality…

Reducing the growing cancer rate in the young

Great video in which renowned Australian neurosurgeon Dr. Charlie Teo talks about the connection between non-ionizing radiation and brain cancer.  He quotes statistic that brain cancer is now the largest cause of death by disease in children and young adults. He tells the story of one of his patients who owned a transport company and used his cell phone 8 hours a day; his other 4 partners and secretary also used their cell phone for many hours a day.  All 6 of them died of brain cancer.  Non-ionizing (wireless) radiation is being used to treat brain cancer by interfering with cell mitosis and breaking open cell membranes to allow chemotherapeutic agents in.  If you didn’t know, we still do not know the exact mechanism by which tobacco and asbestos causes cancer, but we know that they do

New on-going study
Could the 5G future pose a health risk?

Super-fast 5G wireless is still years away from widespread commercial service but researchers are already wondering if the new networks — which will feature many more radios than previous cellular architectures deployed very densely in towns and cities — could pose a health risk to the general public.

Massey University in New Zealand has announced this week that it got funding to investigate if there will be any adverse effects of electromagnetic radiation to human health caused by the next generation of telecommunication networks called 5G. The research will take place through 2017.

//www.lightreading.com/mobile/5g/could-the-5g-future-pose-a-health-risk-/d/d-id/723324

Principal Investigator Dr Faraz Hasan says, “if the future wireless signals are found to be harmless to the human health, this project would build consumer confidence in the future telecommunication services. However, if this project shows that the 5G network leads to, or potentially may lead to adverse health impacts, the industry would be required to modify the underlying wireless technology to ensure the human wellbeing”.

The most important outcome is determining the safety level of future wireless services in New Zealand and all over the world,” Dr Hasan from the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology, says.

But you’re looking so well

How are you, they ask

When they take us to task

When we eventually explain our plight

But you’re looking so good! it can’t be right.

Because they don’t feel the radiation

The put us down so we walk away

feeling like a clown

Reluctant to speak then for a while

We cloak our symptoms and put on a smile.

“They must be daft. They’re all insane

Those godly things couldn’t be to blame

They are our life, we just couldn’t survive

Unless we have these things by our side”

Every hand I see clutching a phone

Without this they cannot leave home.

Into a panic they get

And on their body they sweat and sweat.

My phone, my phone, I feel so alone

Where did I leave it at all,

Sure I may as well be dead if it’s not at my head

Without it my brain doesn’t work at all.

They look at us then, but you’re looking so well as we hobble in Hell,

They just don’t get it at all.

We just go on our way, ignore what they say,

But one day some will experience a fall.

How the Internet of Things (IoT) could be spying on you

BIG Brother is watching. You house could be spying on you through seemingly harmless everyday appliances.

BIG Brother is watching.

Your front door, television and child’s doll could all be spying on you.

The internet of things, everyday objects connected to the web, can send and receive data and appliances have the power to gain control and track your behaviour and movements.

At least 40 per cent of Australian homes now have at least one internet of things device and they are disguised as normal appliances. They can be fridges, kettles or even window blinds.

Three studies from Aachen University, Germany

  • Alterations of thymic morphology and antioxidant biomarkers in 60-day-old male rats following exposure to a continuous 900 MHz electromagnetic field during adolescence
Abstract
We investigated changes in thymic tissue of male rats exposed to a 900 megahertz (MHz) electromagnetic field (EMF) on postnatal days 22–59. Three groups of six 21-day-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were allocated as: control (CG), sham (SG) and EMF (EMFG) groups. No procedure was performed on the CG rats. SG rats were placed in a Plexiglas cage for 1 h every day between postnatal days 22 and 59 without exposure to EMF. EMFG rats were placed in the same cage for the same periods as the SG rats and were exposed to 900 MHz EMF. Rats were sacrificed on postnatal day 60. Sections of thymus were stained for histological assessment. Oxidant/antioxidant parameters were investigated biochemically. Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in EMFG increased compared to the other groups. Extravascular erythrocytes were observed in the medullary/corticomedullary regions in EMFG sections. We found that 900 MHz EMF applied for 1 h/day on postnatal days 22–59 can increase tissue MDA and histopathological changes in male rat thymic tissue.
(Note: Malondialdehyde (MDA) is the organic compound with the formula CH2(CHO)2. The structure of this species is more complex than this formula suggests. This reactive species occurs naturally and is a marker for oxidative stress.)

  • RF EMF risk perception revisited: Is the focus on concern sufficient for risk perception studies?

Abstract

An implicit assumption of risk perception studies is that concerns expressed in questionnaires reflect concerns in everyday life. The aim of the present study is to check this assumption, i.e., the extrapolability of risk perceptions expressed in a survey, to risk perceptions in everyday life. To that end, risk perceptions were measured by a multidimensional approach. In addition to the traditional focus on measuring the magnitude of risk perceptions, the thematic relevance (how often people think about a risk issue) and the discursive relevance (how often people think about or discuss a risk issue) of risk perceptions were also collected. Taking into account this extended view of risk perception, an online survey was conducted in six European countries with 2454 respondents, referring to radio frequency electromagnetic field (RF EMF) risk potentials from base stations, and access points, such as WiFi routers and cell phones. The findings reveal that the present study’s multidimensional approach to measuring risk perception provides a more differentiated understanding of RF EMF risk perception. High levels of concerns expressed in questionnaires do not automatically imply that these concerns are thematically relevant in everyday life. We use thematic relevance to distinguish between enduringly concerned (high concern according to both questionnaire and thematic relevance) and not enduringly concerned participants (high concern according to questionnaire but no thematic relevance). Furthermore, we provide data for the empirical value of this distinction: Compared to other participants, enduringly concerned subjects consider radio frequency electromagnetic field exposure to a greater extent as a moral and affective issue. They also see themselves as highly exposed to radio frequency electromagnetic fields. However, despite these differences, subjects with high levels of thematic relevance are nevertheless sensitive to exposure reduction as a means for improving the acceptance of base stations in their neighborhood. This underlines the value of exposure reduction for the acceptance of radio frequency electromagnetic field communication technologies.

  • Enhancement of X-ray induced apoptosis by mobile phone-like radio-frequency electromagnetic fields in mouse spermatocyte-derived cells

Abstract

To explore the combined effects of environmental radio-frequency (RF) field and X-ray, mouse spermatocyte-derived (GC-1) cells were exposed to 1950 MHz RF field at specific absorption rate (SAR) of 3 W/kg for 24 h combined with or without X-ray irradiation at 6 Gy. After treatment, the cell proliferation level was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) Assay and 5-Bromo-2-deoxy Uridine (BrdU) enzyme linked immunosorbent (ELISA) Assay. The apoptosis level was detected by annexin V flow cytometry assay, transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) Assay and Caspase-3 Activity Assay. It was found that the proliferation and apoptosis level did not change in GC-1 cells after RF exposure alone. However, compared with the X-ray group, the proliferation level significantly decreased and the apoptotic rate significantly increased in the RF+X-ray group. Moreover, a significant decrease in Bcl-2 protein expression and increase in Bax protein expression were observed. The findings suggested that RF exposure at SAR of 3 W/kg did not affect apoptosis and proliferation in GC-1 cells by itself, but that it did enhance the effects of X-ray induced proliferation inhibition and apoptosis, in which B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) and Bcl-2 associated X protein (Bax) might be involved.

MA EMF bills coming up for hearing

Dear EMF Leaders,

The first Massachusetts bill hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 20 and we believe the second bill will be scheduled for that same day. We will be most grateful if you can prepare testimony to submit. Once the second bill’s hearing date has been posted, I will send you the list of legislators to submit to.

For those who may be in a position to join us, each person who signs up to speak before 1:00 p.m. is given three minutes. The hearings will likely go from 1-4 p.m. with bills on many topics being heard. We will ask in advance if special consideration can be made to let those with EHS testify sooner rather than later.

I realize at times we may tire of sending in testimony to the FCC and other national agencies, but we might just be able to make inroads at the state level with some very caring public servants. Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet with the offices of four of the committee co-chairs to whom these bills are assigned. We now have their attention and they seem genuinely interested. More to come next week…

Thank you for your consideration, I hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Best regards,

Cece Doucette
