In 10 years, your iPhone won’t be a phone anymore

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A good piece of advice has been circulating for some time: “Think global, act local”. While we may think that an event taking place in one location has not effect on us, we all need to think again.

The information regarding a talk in a rural town in the Midlands of Ireland has parallels around the world – especially in the U.S. where global companies are erecting wind turbines at a great pace – and the power lines to service them. Thus the articles from What is 5G should send alarm bells ringing for those living in the countryside. Broadband Over Power Lines (first trialled in Ireland several years ago and deemed too expensive at the time) is again on the agenda. This time it is to carry the 5G signal which is up to 100 times faster but, unfortunately 10 times stronger.

Research carried out in one country is easily transferred from one jurisdiction to another. This, if Ireland is the first country in the world to completely bathe the country in the 5G signal, a precedent has been set and 5G can be deployed across Europe.

A second item of relevance if the geological impact of microwave radiation on the planet. As with human and animal health, it is difficult to prove or disprove microwave damage to Earth’s geology. The spike in the Schumann Resonance, the electromagnetic heartbeat of the Earth deserves attention. Could H.A.A.R.P. technology be responsible for the Hurricanes in Haiti and New Orleans, the damage to the spillway at Oroville Dam or the current swarm of earthquakes at Yellowstone?

These are perilous times with many unknowns. People need to ask questions and share the answers.

Please circulate widely.

Kind regards,

John Weigel

In 10 years, your iPhone won’t be a phone anymore

Siri will be the conductor of a suite of devices, all tracking your interactions and anticipating your next moves

It’s 2027, and you’re walking down the street, confident you’ll arrive at your destination even though you don’t know where it is. You may not even remember why your device is telling you to go there.

There’s a voice in your ear giving you turn-by-turn directions and, in between, prepping you for this meeting. Oh, right, you’re supposed to be interviewing a dog whisperer for your pet-psychiatry business. You arrive at the coffee shop, look around quizzically, and a woman you don’t recognize approaches. A display only you can see highlights her face and prints her name next to it in crisp block lettering, Terminator-style. Afterward, you’ll get an automatically generated transcript of everything the two of you said.

As the iPhone this week marks the 10th anniversary of its first sale, it remains one of the most successful consumer products in history. But by the time it celebrates its 20th anniversary, the “phone” concept will be entirely uprooted: That dog-whisperer scenario will be brought to you even if you don’t have an iPhone in your pocket.

Sure, Apple AAPL 0.45% may still sell a glossy rectangle. (At that point, iPhones may also be thin and foldable, or roll up into scrolls like ancient papyri.) But the suite of apps and services that is today centered around the physical iPhone will have migrated to other, more convenient and equally capable devices-a “body area network” of computers, batteries and sensors residing on our wrists, in our ears, on our faces and who knows where else. We’ll find ourselves leaving the iPhone behind more and more often.

Trying to predict where technology will be in a decade may be a fool’s errand, but how often do we get to tie up so many emerging trends in a neat package?

China’s all-seeing surveillance state is reading its citizens’ faces

By Josh Chin and Liza Lin

June 26, 2017 12:03 p.m. ET

SHENZHEN-Gan Liping pumped her bike across a busy street, racing to beat a crossing light before it turned red. She didn’t make it. Immediately, her face popped up on two video screens above the street. “Jaywalkers will be captured using facial-recognition technology,” the screens said.

Facial-recognition technology, once a specter of dystopian science fiction, is becoming a feature of daily life in China, where authorities are using it on streets, in subway stations, at airports and at border crossings in a vast experiment in social engineering. Their goal: to influence behavior and identify lawbreakers.

Ms. Gan, 31 years old, had been caught on camera crossing illegally here once before, allowing the system to match her two images. Text displayed on the crosswalk screens identified her as a repeat offender.

“I won’t ever run a red light again,” she said.

China is rushing to deploy new technologies to monitor its people in ways that would spook many in the U.S. and the West. Unfettered by privacy concerns or public debate, Beijing’s authoritarian leaders are installing iris scanners at security checkpoints in troubled regions and using sophisticated software to monitor ramblings on social media. By 2020, the government hopes to implement a national “social credit” system that would assign every citizen a rating based how they behave at work, in public venues and in their financial dealings.

China’s technology companies are helping lead the way, scooping up unprecedented data on people’s lives through their mobile phones and competing to develop and market surveillance systems for government use.

Facial-recognition technology is one of the most powerful new tools in the surveillance arsenal. Fueled by advances in artificial intelligence, these systems can measure key aspects of a face, such as distance between the eyes and skin tone, then cross-reference them against huge databases of photographs collected by government agencies and businesses and shared on social media.

Please update your browser to view this interactive graphic. It works best in the latest versions of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Other countries also have begun experimenting. In the U.S., the Federal Bureau of Investigation uses the technology to help identify criminal suspects, and the Department of Homeland Security is deploying it in airports to track when foreign visitors leave the country. Its use is expected to grow world-wide as a tool for law enforcement and personal identification, and U.S. companies are among those using it in pilot programs.

China, however, stands apart in harnessing facial recognition as a cudgel to influence behavior. The Chinese Ministry of Public Security-its national police force-and other agencies called in 2015 for the creation of an “omnipresent, completely connected, always on and fully controllable” nationwide video-surveillance network as a public-safety imperative. In a policy statement, the agencies included “facial comparison” in a list of techniques to be used to improve surveillance networks.

5G networks will use the same frequencies as pain-inflicting crowd control weapons

We previously noted that the Internet of Things (IoT) is a scam … being pushed so that Big Brother can spy on us.

Believe it or not, IoT may also pose health and safety risks.

Devra Lee Davis – Founding Director of the Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology of the U.S. National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences, Founding Director of the Center for Environmental Oncology, University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, who has taught at the University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and other major universities, and has had articles published in Lancet, Journal of the American Medical Association to Scientific American, the New York Times and elsewhere – says that the 5G wavelengths used in IoT have never been tested for health effects, and may adversely impact our skin and sweat glands:
Dr. Davis’ group – Environmental Health Trust – explains:

CIA can hack & track Windows devices via their Wi-Fi connections

WikiLeaks has released the latest Vault 7 batch of CIA hacking exploits. ‘ELSA’ is malware used to track WiFi-enabled devices running Microsoft Windows, allowing the CIA to gather location data on a target’s device and monitor their patterns and habits.

ELSA tracks the geolocation of wifi-enabled devices, providing the CIA with a target’s “pattern of life,” by recording details about wifi access points near the target machine.

The malware allows the CIA to track a target’s location even when they’re not connected to the internet. All that’s needed is for the device to be wifi-enabled and in an area where wifi access points are in range. Using wifi for geolocation means GPS isn’t required.

‘Pre-Crime’ surveillance technology, social blacklisting

Last May I reported on Britain’s latest anti-crime technology already in use in the UK in a piece entitledBritain’s Minority Report Style ‘Pre-Crime’ Programme Unexpectedly Unearthed.

I described how Britain already had a reputation for deploying the most intrusive surveillance systems against its own people anywhere in the Western world and how “Pre-Crime” systems were being tested with police using big data to stalk potential offenders who’ve yet to break the law.

At the time I also mentioned that police departments around the world were partnering with private companies to use public data, personal information and algorithms to predict where illegal actions are most likely to occur and, crucially, who is most likely to commit them.

From Emil-Pierre Steck, Australia

Richie from Boston takes us down a scary rabbit hole, citing the 2001 patent #US6506148 B2, “Nervous System Manipulation by Electromagnetic Fields from Monitors”. The patent contains drawings of a person at close range from an old school TV set with schematics illustrating how EM fields from the television can be used to manipulate the human nervous system.

The patent’s Abstract states: “Psychological effects have been observed in a human subject in response to stimulation of the skin with weak electromagnetic fields that are pulsed with certain frequencies near 1/2 Hz or 2.4 Hz, such as to excite a sensory resonance. Many computer monitors and TV tubes, when displaying, pulsed images, emit pulsed electromagnetic fields of sufficient amplitudes to cause such excitation. It is therefore possible to manipulate the nervous system of a subject by pulsing images displayed on a nearby computer monitor or TV set. For the latter, the image pulsing may be embedded in the program material, or it may be overlaid by modulating a video stream, either as an RF signal or as a video signal. The image displayed on a computer monitor may be pulsed effectively by a simple computer program. For certain monitors, pulsed electromagnetic fields capable of exciting sensory resonances in certain subjects may be penetrated even as the displayed images are pulsed with subliminal intensity.”

Richie takes us from the already- horrible spectre of mass brainwave entrainment (I used to have a stack of patents for these sorts of effects as thick a a telephone book) to how the circuitry pictured in this patent look like magickal sigils, which function to invoke demons (!) He says that therefore, every time we use telecommunications, we are

inadvertently invoking “Powers and Principalities.”

It’s a bit of a stretch and I don’t any more excuses to not watch TV (because I don’t watch it) but I can’t toss it off completely, either!

Television will kill you. Patent to prove it

Is HAARP manipulating
Earth’s natural rhythms?

What does the spike in the Schumann resonance mean?

In 1952, German physicist and professor W.O. Schumann hypothesized there were measurable electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere that existed in the cavity (or space) between the surface of the earth and the ionosphere. According to NASA, the ionosphere is an abundant layer of electrons, ionized atoms, and molecules that stretches from approximately 30 miles above the surface of the earth to the edge of space, at about 600 miles. This dynamic region grows and shrinks (and further divides into sub-regions) based on solar conditions and is a critical link in the chain of Sun-Earth interactions. It’s this “celestial power station” that makes radio communications possible.

In 1954, Schumann and H.L. König confirmed Schumann’s hypothesis by detecting resonances at a main frequency of 7.83 Hz; thus, the “Schumann resonance” was established by measuring global electromagnetic resonances generated and excited by lightning discharges in the ionosphere. While this phenomenon is caused by lightning in the atmosphere, many are not aware of the importance of this frequency as a tuning fork for life. In other words, it acts as a background frequency influencing the biological circuitry of the mammalian brain.

As far back as we know, the Earth’s electromagnetic field has been protecting all living things with this natural frequency pulsation of 7.83 Hz. You can think of this as the earth’s heartbeat. The ancient Indian Rishis referred to this as OHM, or the incarnation of pure sound. Whether by coincidence or not, the frequency of 7.83 Hz also happens to be a very powerful frequency used with brain wave entrainment as it’s associated with low levels of alpha and the upper range of theta brain wave states. This frequency has also been associated with high levels of hypnotizability, suggestibility, meditation, and increased HGH (human growth hormone) levels, in addition to increased cerebral blood-flow levels while this frequency is being stimulated.

It would seem then that our nervous system can be influenced by the earth’s electromagnetic field. Maybe that’s why being in nature has always been so restorative and healing. Disconnecting from a typical city setting by reducing our exposure to crowds, traffic, work, and routine life-and instead getting out in natural surroundings-can slow our brain waves down from the aggressive, vigilant, anxious, and impatient states that are seen in higher ranges of beta brain waves to more restorative alpha waves.

On January 31, 2017, for the first time in recorded history, the Schumann resonance reached frequencies of 36+ Hz. It was considered an anomaly when in 2014 this frequency rose from its usual 7.83 Hz to somewhere in the 15-25 Hz levels-so a jump from 7.83 Hz to 36+ Hz is a big deal.

The Earth’s natural Schumann Resonances are being manipulated by CERN, HAARP, GWEN towers!

The earth signals change: Schumann Resonance spiking through the roof in recent months

The Earth itself, has a heartbeat, known as the Schumann Resonances. And it has surrounded and protected all living beings in a natural steady frequency of 7.83 Htz for thousands of years. And was identified as the sacred cosmic sound of the Hindu’s. Claims have been found that there is evidence that HAARP, CERN and the GWEN towers are manipulating Earth’s Natural heartbeat! Many believe the Schumann Resonance is not only to altered to control us, but, we can also alter it, depending on our own level of awareness!

On June 2014 when the Russian Space Observatory system showed a sudden increase in activity with the spikes stretching from 8.5 hz to 16.5 hz. The Schuman Resonance are oscillating magnetic frequencies that happen in the Earth’s electromagnetic spectrum. They are said to be generated by electromagnetic changes within the Earth’s core. Which affects Earth and all life. When these natural frequencies get manipulated, it can have drastic results for Earth and all life! It’s the greatest population control ever!

The age of no privacy: The surveillance state shifts into high gear

“We are rapidly entering the age of no privacy, where everyone is open to surveillance at all times; where there are no secrets from government.” ? William O. Douglas, Supreme Court Justice (1966)

The government has become an expert in finding ways to sidestep what it considers “inconvenient laws” aimed at ensuring accountability and thereby bringing about government transparency and protecting citizen privacy.

Indeed, it has mastered the art of stealth maneuvers and end-runs around the Constitution.

It knows all too well how to hide its nefarious, covert, clandestine activities behind the classified language of national security and terrorism. And when that doesn’t suffice, it obfuscates, complicates, stymies or just plain bamboozles the public into remaining in the dark.

Case in point: the National Security Agency (NSA) has been diverting “internet traffic, normally safeguarded by constitutional protections, overseas in order to conduct unrestrained data collection on Americans.”

It’s extraordinary rendition all over again, only this time it’s surveillance instead of torture being outsourced.

In much the same way that the government moved its torture programs overseas in order to bypass legal prohibitions against doing so on American soil, it is doing the same thing for its surveillance programs.

By shifting its data storage, collection and surveillance activities outside of the country-a tactic referred to as “traffic shaping” -the government is able to bypass constitutional protections against unwarranted searches of Americans’ emails, documents, social networking data, and other cloud-stored data.

The government, however, doesn’t even need to move its programs overseas. It just has to push the data over the border in order to “[circumvent] constitutional and statutory safeguards seeking to protect the privacy of Americans.”

Johansson struggles: Fund needed to save research records

Dear friends/supporters, dear All on my mailing list,

As you know, every day now I am struggling very, very hard to keep my nose above the waterline, but I am still sinking. Some persons have very generously and kindly offered monetary support to help me to partly cover the rent of a small storage room out in the countryside, as well as some minimum running costs to enable further studies/papers, but more persons and more money are needed.

So, in essence and very bluntly, if you have anything to help me with, please, please, send it. It is urgent.

Here is yet a recently published interview with me, in case you can benefit from it:

I will also soon appear – together with several experts – in the coming film “Generation Zapped 2017”. Look out for it!

Max Igan ‘The coming 5G roll-out & AI will transform human society by 2025!’

In the world situation, we are all aware of the “hot spots,” such as North Korea, Syria, and Ukraine that could escalate into a full-blown regional war and then expand even further, either on their own or with “assistance” from governments and oligarchs alike. We also have seen a rekindling of the tensions that existed during the first Cold War and the shaping of a new Cold War with Russia. Meanwhile, with all foreign policy in shambles and diplomatic ties in a limbo-vacuum, the U.S. government has adjusted its pace domestically. The President was sworn in with a tide of almost “messianic” fervor; however, 6 months has elapsed with little change evident and many of his reforms stopped dead in the water for the time being.

Domestically the U.S. government was instituting and initiating “reforms” at a running pace under Obama. The reforms were actually removals of more and more of our liberties. This pace has slowed down, but has not ceased. Read the article Senate Bill: Travelers Must Register Cash and Digital Amounts Over $10K or Face 10 Years in Prison and Full Asset Seizure. Labeled Senate Bill 1241, this nefarious totalitarian measure also contains provisions for wiretapping anyone suspected of “drug trafficking or money laundering” to fit the bill for asset seizure and further torment by the government.

They want to know everything you have, everything you’re doing, everywhere you’re going, and track you in real time with your happy cellular telephone.

We may appear to digress, now, but this next item is chillingly interrelated to the information previously mentioned. Another article by a neuroscientist, a Miss Shelly Fan. The government has been working on technologies such as this one for some time. Here is the first step, in Miss Fan’s article Forget Police Sketches: Researchers Perfectly Reconstruct Faces by Reading Brainwaves.

There you have it, straight out of George Orwell’s “1984,” where Winston Smith was confronted and tortured by O’Brien. The latter informed Smith there were two problems for the State (Oceania) to overcome: How to kill off hundreds of millions in an instant, and how to know exactly what a human being is thinking. Well, here we are. If they can pattern facial recognition technology to create sketches of people from the human mind, how long will it be before they can take your thoughts and formulate words or other images…even place them on a screen and store them for later use. Will such a thing hold up in a court? Probably not. Nowadays, they don’t need probable cause to snag you…only “reasonable suspicion,” and they can doggedly pursue you across the ends of the earth.

Each week or even more often, we are seeing more technological advances, along with more Draconian, totalitarian edicts termed “legislation.” Here we see the enemy of the people in the form of a tyrannical state that has abused its powers and privileges afforded it by the Constitution and the vote of the people. Here we see an almost bankrupted government, running on the fumes of Fiat currency and the treaties made in the birthing of the vampiric Petrodollar…a medium created with the Saudis that (as evidenced by Qatar) they may very well be the ones to plunge the stake through the heart of the vampire. Here we see the last stages of a Republic’s collapse into totalitarianism.

The almost omnipresent police state…the federalization local and state police departments and Sheriff’s departments, the fusion centers, the data collection facility in Utah, the steadily-hatching CCTV “chickadees” popping up on every corner, in every gas station, public building, and convenience store. It is a well-known fact that before an empire slips completely into tyranny, it enslaves, torments, brutalizes, and kills its citizens. Foreigners come and go, illegally and with a passport, carte blanche: Americans are the ones subjected to the scrutiny when they travel. An empire can’t have its subjects…taxpaying, system-supporting subjects…going “off” the reservation, now, can they?

If there is a war, I have stated (and stand by the assertion) in previous articles that the war will be initiated with an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) attack. Stefan Stanford penned a brilliant article entitled, This ‘Game Changer’ Could Lead to 270 Million Dead Americans and Foreshadows a Massive False Flag on the Horizon. Stefan’s belief is that an EMP may be too severe for TPTB to recover from without losing a great deal of their assets. He expostulates an excellent theory that it will be a controlled cyberattack that accomplishes exactly what the EMP attack would, minus the recovery time.

He also mentioned the show “Revolution” that had a couple of seasons and then was discontinued abruptly and for no reason when the ratings were good…a show that had a cyberattack that brought down the whole shooting match as its theme. Readers also undoubtedly recall the “Jericho” series that lasted only 2 seasons that had nuclear devices exploded in 23 American cities to collapse the country and usher in a new era of chaos and “warlord” type engagements between factions claiming to be “the” legitimate government. Stefan and I are in complete agreement with the fact that these cancellations are way too obvious when you consider the predictive programming policies carried out by the U.S. government and Hollywood, the puppet-lackey of the State. The scenarios are too feasible to be discounted.

In the meantime, the public plods through the day, dulled to the everyday events that lead us closer to the corral, and eventually into the cagesWe need to focus upon these changes as they are made and keep abreast of what is happening. Such measures are neither “cheap,” nor are they instituted by our wonderful Congressional members for no reason. It would be a lack of reason to discount such actions as anything other than plans for the future…their plans to rule it, as well as their plans to “deal” with us.

Health exemption for firefighters sends a message to the world

by Susan Foster

Trends often start in California, spread across the U.S. and frequently around the world. And so it is with wireless technology and the policy advancing the now unchecked expansion of wireless infrastructure throughout our communities. The next few days may signal a policy shift tipping point from which there is no return, and firefighters – forever on the front lines when it comes to health and safety – have a message for all of us through their proactive stance.

A bill is pending in the California Assembly that will be heard in two separate committees on Wednesday, June 28th. If it passes and becomes law effective January 1, 2018, nearly all cell towers may be sited by telecom carriers without any local control. In a flex of corporate power and influence over the legislature, an amendment was added to the bill at the 11th hour to grant a pass to macro towers, allowing cell towers of multiple shapes and sizes to be sited without cities or local residents having any say in the matter. For all the connectivity people have come to wish for, no one wants to wake up with a tower beaming at or looming over their home.

Radiation exposure warning for pregnant women and babies

Experts warn of risks in the home from baby monitors and mobile phones

Keep mobile devices away from your baby’s body

Although you can’t see it, electromagnetic radiation is all around your baby. Not everyone is aware that, for example, a cordless baby monitor emits radiation or that a cordless phone is effectively a mast in your own home acting as a transmitter.

Ever thought about the levels of radiation your baby is exposed to?

Whenever we, at Families, speak to parents about the level of EMR their children are exposed to, the response is more or less the same: “It is probably not very good for us, however there are masts everywhere and every household receives so many strong WiFi signals from other houses, there is nothing I can do about it.”

Whilst is very tempting to want to bury your head in the sand on the subject of EMR, there is lots you can do to at least become well- informed and take simple precautions to keep you and your family protected.

Creating a Safe Zone at home

It’s better to be safe than sorry: follow these easy and practical steps to minimise risks of over exposure:

• do not place your wireless router close to baby’s bedroom

• switch off wireless routers, especially at night when not required

• pregnant women should not carry their phones next to their bodies, (as recommended in mobile phone instruction booklets!)

• mobile phones should not come to rest anywhere close to the baby’s body, not in the pram, not in your pocket etc.

• choose low-radiation or analogue baby monitors. If you really must use one, place it as far to baby as possible.

Don’t be complacent

Did you know there are a massive number of studies and reports, expert opinions and statements which state there is a “strong suspicion of possible damage” from EMR? Check out the information campaign called The Babysafe Project, which is coordinated by The Grassroots Environmental Education and Environmental Health Trust. Based on independent, scientific research it links exposure to wireless radiation from mobile phones during pregnancy to neurological problems and behavioural disorders similar to ADHD/ADD in children.

Who do you believe?

Olle Johansson, Associate Professor of The Experimental Dermatology Unit, Department of Neuroscience in Stockholm says: “Various so-called “official expert reports” have been presented. These conclude that there is no cause for concern. It makes me very worried. This would mean that all the thousands of papers published on very serious side-effects of electromagnetic radiation fields – in fully accredited scientific journals – must then all be wrong. Can this be true?”

Parliament has taken note

Both the European Parliament and the Council of Europe have listened to this. In 2011, the European Council, in its Resolution No. 1815: The potential dangers of electromagnetic fields and their effect on the environment, noted the following: “The precautionary principle should be applied when scientific evaluation does not allow the risk to be determined with sufficient certainty. Given the context of growing exposure of the population, in particular that of vulnerable groups such as young people and children, there could be extremely high human and economic costs if early warnings are neglected.” The resolution goes on to say: “…for children in general, and particularly in schools and classrooms, give preference to the wired Internet connections, and strictly regulate the use of mobile phones by school children on school premises.”

We, at Families, are very worried. If you are concerned about EMR and want to know more, emaileditor@familiesSW.co.uk If there is sufficient interest, we will host a talk on the subject of EMR.

“Explore what the science is telling us about electrosensitivity and cancer risks near antennas…and choose where you live carefully. The brief snapshot of studies below will give you a starting point.”
Commentary: Ignoring independent science, with a still open Docket from 2013 on RF exposure limits, the FCC – along with other branches of our government – are doing whatever they can to assist the telecom industry in ramming this stuff down our throats. They say it’s in response to “public demand.” Maybe REAL “public demand” for health and safety needs to be voiced more forcefully, so our government can hear us over the raucous babble of industry.

“Unlike some countries, we do not believe we should spend the next couple of years studying what 5G should be, how it should operate, and how to allocate spectrum….Turning innovators loose is far preferable to expecting committees and regulators to define the future. We won’t wait for the standards to be first developed in the sometimes arduous standards-setting process or in a government-led activity. Instead, we will make ample spectrum available and then rely on a private sector-led process for producing technical standards best suited for those frequencies and use cases.”

A public health revolution can reduce the growing cancer burden for the young

June 6th, 2017, Devra Davis – Opinion Contributor. The Hill.
“Spurred by growing independent scientific reports linking wireless microwave radiation to a range of health problems, policies to reduce exposures especially for children are moving forward in France, Israel, Argentina, India and Taiwan. In contrast in the U.S. we are caught up in a well-financed national push for more and more wireless in more and more places, making it faster and easier to download virtual reality porn, videos, and apps for infants, toddlers, and elementary school children.”

World Health Organization, radiofrequency radiation and health – a hard nut to crack (Review)

Lennart Hardell, Accepted June 6, 2017. Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Örebro University, Sweden.
“Human epidemiological studies gave evidence of increased risk for glioma and acoustic neuroma. RF radiation was classi ed as Group 2B, a possible human carcinogen. Further epidemiological, animal and mechanistic studies have strengthened the association. In spite of this, in most countries little or nothing has been done to reduce exposure and educate people on health hazards from RF radiation. On the contrary ambient levels have increased.”

Dasmariñas Village homeowners oppose cell sites, slam DICT chief

June 26th, 2017, Anna Liza Villas-alavaren.
“No genuine consultation or referendum has ever been called to ascertain the true sentiment of about 2,489 homeowners and lessees on whether they are in favor of ODAS installations near their homes or even in parks where their children play,” Lim pointed [out]. As a group, Dasma ACTS said it advocates transparency and honesty and in time will take steps to determine the true will of the homeowners – whether for or against ODAS.
Commentary: Although industry pitches “small cells” as a necessary response to “public demand”, there has never been any kind of referendum anywhere in the US either to see if the public does, in fact, want these cell towers outside their homes. What is the true will of people?

States try to speed up deployment of 5G wireless networks

Governor Scott signed Florida’s ‘Small Cell’ bill into law.

Cannot find an article covering this, but apparently, a 50 foot mini cell tower can no longer be prohibited by zoning.

League position & differences between small cell wireless bill in MN and other states – The League of Minnesota Cities

“In other states, there are prohibitions on zoning that take away authority to deny for any reasons other than specific, narrow reasons listed in the bill (usually only for electrical code violations or building code violations. In the Minnesota bill, local government units retain ability to deny permits for reasonable public health, welfare and safety reasons with no definitions or limitations on those health, welfare and safety reasons.”

Factoid: “The wireless industry has actively pushed small cell wireless deployment across the country. Just this year, approximately 18 states had a small cell bill introduced with 7 of those bills passing as of May 19, 2017.”

We Paid for Fiber and They’re Delivering Wireless

The IRREGULATORS – Bruce Kushnik

Part 1 – “The Book of Broken Promises: $400 Billion Broadband Scandal & Free the Net”
“America’s households and businesses have been overcharged at least nine times for broadband/fiber optic services, including the wiring of schools, libraries, and hospitals- about $4000-$7000 per household, and the total is way over ½ trillion dollars by 2016. You can thank just a few companies: AT&T, Verizon and Centurylink, who control the state-based utilities, along with the cable companies, Comcast and now-Spectrum et al. And this is the low number.”

Part 2 – It’s time to take the FCC to court

“Since the beginning of 2017, the FCC has been a path of destruction with the overarching theme to erase all laws, regulations and consumer protections and to let a few very large monopolies/duopolies (or oligopoly)-Verizon, AT&T, Centurylink, and the cable companies-do what they want at your expense.”

California Wireless Legislation: Paid for by AT&T Et Al.

May 16, 2017, Bruce Kushnik. Huffington Post.
“There is a proposed piece of legislation in California for the deployment of lots of small wireless cell antennas, and this is also happening simultaneously in other states, Congress and at the FCC. And, wouldn’t you know it; those who benefit the most from these state and federal gifts are AT&T et al., the companies who are also funding and engineering these campaigns. In fact, these state bills appear to be based on ‘model legislation’ that was created by the Wireless Infrastructure Association, WIA and by ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Counsel.” “Wireless is not a substitute for fiber. Remove the hype about ‘5G’ wireless and you have nothing more than a plan to remove regulations and push for more expensive services, priced by the gig, with data caps and slower speeds.”

Internet for all San Franciscans? Here’s how it could happen

June 7, 2017, Rachel Swan.
“Farrell began laying the foundation for a far more ambitious plan – laying fiber throughout the city, including areas like Visitacion Valley and the Bayview, where the cost of digging up the street far exceeds the immediate profit for any carrier.”

June 18th, 2017, Brian Merchant. The Observer.
What life is like in Foxconn, the factory that produces smart phones.
“In an extract from his new book, Brian Merchant reveals how he gained access to Longhua, the vast complex where iPhones are made and where, in 2010, unhappy workers started killing themselves”
Commentary: To produce an affordable IoT, in addition to harsh working conditions, corners will need to be cut on cyber security, conflict minerals, health, and proper handling of e-waste. Our personal data will add greatly to the business case, as will the use of cheap toxic materials in products. But thankfully, the unintended consequence of “cutting corners” is that many people are very wary about buying IoT products.

My Flow: Who we are and how it works

“We’re MyFlow and we’re looking to obliterate period anxiety with our tampon monitor.”
Commentary: Makes sense (NOT!!) – In order to obliterate so-called “period anxiety,” we should add millions of 5g “small cells” beaming hazardous radiation into our homes 24/7, harm wildlife – possibly losing bees and other pollinators – risk catastrophic cyber attacks, contribute to the death of millions of Congolese people, generate yet more e-waste to be dismantled by workers and children in other countries while polluting them, their water, and their land, and hand over the most intimate details of our biology to the vast storehouse of big data. And oh yes, cause harm to the women who – due to lack of public awareness – might actually buy such a thing!

5 robots that screwed-up big-time

June 22, 2017, Shaunacy Ferro. Mental Floss.
One example given was: “In 2016, Microsoft launched an A.I. chatbot named Tay that could learn from interactions it had with people online. It was designed to carry out real-time research on conversation using Twitter, Facebook, GroupMe, and Snapchat, among others, essentially learning to talk like a Millennial. Sadly, people are not always their best selves online. In less than a day, the ‘bot had learned to tweet out offensive jokes, and it was pulled offline within 24 hours of its launch.”
Commentary: All right, a “bot” on social media that tweets offensive jokes may not be so bad…but what about when robots are endowed with assignments that could potentially impact the world in far more devastating ways.
