Commonwealth Club 11-18-10. Panel I – Eileen O’Connor, Director, Radiation Research Trust (U.K.). Leading U.K. campaigner and breast cancer survivor describes the source of her motivation as an activist: discovering she had breast cancer, finding a cancer cluster and an unusual concentration of other diseases in her neighborhood, realizing she was living 100 meters from a cell phone tower, and discovering the widespread resistance of governments to acknowledge thousands of studies showing biological effects from electromagnetic fields including cell phone and wireless technologies. Ms. O’Connor now educates government leaders in the U.K. and European Parliament, and officials at the WHO, and plays a key role in bringing both sides of the debate together to pursue solutions.
